Counsellor, Support specialist, and Job Coach BSc (Psychology), Dip (Counselling Practice), SRN Kit holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from The Open University, United Kingdom. She is also a State Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board and achieved a Diploma in Counselling Practice with Counselling and Care Centre. She provided professional counselling in Secondary schools for five years. She then moved to working with children and youth with special needs. She was with an Autism specialised school for 9 years, focusing on educational and job placements, social skills, and behavioural management. She also provided job assessments and coaching, which included job support for clients in their job postings, and conducted parent and teacher training as well as providing school support. |

Counsellor B.Sc. (Social Science), B.Sc. (Hons.; Psychological Science), M.A. (Guidance & Counselling), Psychd. (Doctorate) of Psychology (In progress) With her psychology and counselling background, Chelsea specialises in assessing and supporting the various needs of children and their families. She has experience in working with both neurotypical and neuro-diverse populations and supports individuals from as young as preschoolers to teenagers. Chelsea practices using multiple therapeutic approaches such as applying techniques from behavioural approaches tied in with Structured Teaching (TEACCH). She also draws on programmes such as the Growth Mindset and Social Thinking approaches to enhance her sessions. In line with the beliefs of The Practice she collaborates closely with the caregivers and schools to ensure holistic and practical support. Currently, Chelsea supports both individuals, groups (e.g., social skills groups), school shadow support, and parent training. |
